Our Story

The Salon 6 location has been in business since February 2007. The adjoining building was beautifully separated by a wooden arch, occupied by another business for several years. In 2020, following the Covid 19 crisis, the space became available. The salon's owner, a yoga enthusiast, saw an opportunity. The Salon 6 space and team had outgrown itself, and the search for a second location near her hometown of Lowell had not panned out yet. In one afternoon of brainstorming ideas for the empty building, Salon 6 Spa and Wellness was born, adding 5 additional service rooms, and the yoga studio.

Meet the Team


Tara Brandman

Yoga Director

Tara has been practicing yoga for almost ten years, and became a Yoga Alliance Certified teacher through My Vinyasa Practice. She approaches teaching in an authentic, non-judgmental way, with a compassion-centered teaching philosophy.

When she isn't on her mat, Tara enjoys curling up on the couch with her pets and a good book, binge watching Gilmore Girls, and spending time with her family.


Kassidy Turbergen

Yoga Instructor

Kassidy recently graduated from the Mindful School of Yoga, and has practiced yoga for 10 years. She has a background in gymnastics and dance. Kassidy is an Ionia native and enjoys all levels of fitness. In her free time, she loves to spend quality time with her husband at the lake and her two husky fur babies.

Kassidy is elated to expand on studio growth by offering more days and times to our yoga community.

Claire Kupris

Yoga Instructor

Claire recently graduated from the Mindful School of Yoga to teach yoga! While she just started teaching, she has been practicing yoga for over a decade. Claire's passion is helping people experience themseves in deeper way while providing an accessible and inclusive space for healing. She loves to teach vinyasa, restorative, and guided meditations. 

When Claire isn't doing yoga, she likes to paint, hike, and spend time with her family and cats!
